GreenMore successfully developed a network-based PCS

NANJING, China — July 24, 2024 — GreenMore has completed development of a new grid-connected power conversion system (PCS) for stationary energy storage. The converter is designed for demanding site conditions, including high-altitude and cold-climate projects, and adds dual-control-power backup and a wider DC operating range to the company's storage equipment lineup.

The PCS is the bidirectional converter that charges batteries from the grid and discharges stored energy back as AC. The new unit is built around a digital signal processor (DSP) for power control and uses high-power-density modules, with a stated maximum efficiency of 97.6%. The wide DC input voltage window allows it to work across different battery configurations, subject to compatibility confirmation per project.

Key design points of the new PCS include:

• Environmental protection. Specialized protection and temperature-control measures for operation in high-altitude and cold regions.
• Dual control-power backup. AC and DC auxiliary supply with automatic switchover to keep the control system energized if one source is lost.
• Grid and generator compatibility. Responds to grid dispatch instructions and supports a generator input, with on-grid/off-grid transfer where configured.
• Unbalanced and impact loads. Designed to maintain stable operation under three-phase load imbalance and sudden load steps.

Operating modes — grid-connected, off-grid and switching behavior — can be set from the local control panel or through the connected management platform, depending on the installation.
