Welcome to GM Tech
On August 28, 2025, GreenMore, a Chinese battery energy storage solutions provider, announced that its customized "storage-diesel complementary" smart microgrid system for Madagascar has completed full-chain commissioning and testing and officially commenced overseas shipment. The project, centered on GreenMore's independently developed liquid-cooled energy storage technology and grid-connected energy storage converters, marks another technological breakthrough for Chinese new energy companies in the field of multi-energy complementary energy overseas.
Technological integration and innovation: 10-second response, reliability exceeding 99.9%
The microgrid system delivered this time uses the GM-LEG250KT grid-type energy storage inverter as the control center, integrating two 241kWh European standard certified liquid-cooled battery cabinets, 400kW+150kW dual-power diesel generator sets and intelligent paralleling cabinets, forming a dynamic energy scheduling system with "energy storage priority + diesel supplementation". The system has three core advantages:
1. Ultra-fast response: Switches to off-grid mode within 10 seconds in the event of a grid failure, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to critical loads;
2. Efficient Complementarity: Dynamically allocate the ratio of energy storage and diesel generation through AI algorithms, improving overall energy efficiency by 30%;
3. Ultra-reliable: The system's annual availability rate is ≥99.9%, and it can adapt to extreme environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and dust.
Mr. Li Jie, Technical Director of GreenMore, said, "This system overcomes the limitations of traditional diesel power generation, which is highly polluting, and the single-point vulnerability of energy storage systems. By leveraging the long life of liquid-cooled batteries (over 8,000 cycles) and the grid-supporting capabilities of grid-connected converters, this system provides a model for 'zero-carbon, resilient' energy infrastructure in remote areas and industrial parks."
Accelerating overseas deployment: a global leap from products to solutions
As GreenMore's first benchmark microgrid project in the African market, this shipment includes not only hardware equipment but also a full lifecycle service offering, from preliminary surveys and system design to ongoing operations and maintenance. Addressing Madagascar's challenges with weak power infrastructure and high diesel costs, the project team designed a customized "solar energy storage + diesel replacement" economic model, which is expected to help the customer reduce their overall electricity costs by 40%.
GreenMore's global marketing director noted, "From residential energy storage to commercial and industrial energy storage, and now to microgrid systems, we are evolving from a single product supplier to a partner in energy transformation. Since 2025, the company's overseas orders have increased by 120% year-on-year, with solution-related projects accounting for over 60%, demonstrating the strong global market demand for the integrated 'technology + service' model."
A multi-energy complementary future: Enabling global energy inclusion
According to industry data, the global microgrid market is expected to exceed $50 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 12.7%. The "liquid-cooled energy storage + grid-connected PCS + diesel backup" technology employed in this GreenMore project has been proven to seamlessly integrate with renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and wind power, providing a progressive solution for achieving 100% renewable energy for scenarios such as islands, mines, and data centers.
Currently, GreenMore has established partnerships with distributors in over 30 countries worldwide. Its energy storage products range from 5kWh to MWh and support customized development. Following the implementation of the Madagascar project, the company plans to replicate this "storage-diesel complementary" model in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and other regions, accelerating the energy transition in emerging markets.
